GET INVOLVED

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

At the local level, see Get Involved for information about how to use your voice with the Mercer Island City Council. Meeting with our state legislative delegation is another opportunity to influence government policy. The Washington legislature is actively working on a variety of bills that will influence the lives of Mercer Islanders. Know your Electeds is a concise summary of contact information for the state delegation, as well as others who represent you.

But if you want to meet in person, opportunities exist as well. 41st District Representative Janice Zahn often provides opportunities for meeting in person. A few snippets from her recent newsletter are below. Note in particular her January 31 event planned for Mercer Island.

📅 Save the Date! – Town Hall on Saturday, February 21

Mark your calendar! We’ll be hosting a town hall on Saturday, February 21 after our first bill cutoff, and I can’t wait to share and connect with you in person. This is a great chance to discuss our priorities, hear your concerns, and talk about what matters most to you and your families.

🤝 Staying connected in district

I continue to really value time spent with you in the district. Chats with Janice have been a great way to connect informally, and I’m looking forward to more of them in the upcoming weeks:

  • Sunday, January 25 | 11:30 AM–12:30 PM — Caffè Ladro, Issaquah (with special guest Rep. Hall)

  • Saturday, January 31 | 11:00 AM–12:00 PM — Mercer Island Library (Large Meeting Room)

  • Saturday, January 31 | 3:30–4:30 PM — Metropolitan Market, Sammamish

  • Sunday, February 22 | 9:00–10:00 AM — Frosty Barrell, Newcastle

And please save the date for our upcoming Town Halls— I’ll share more details soon.

  • Saturday, February 21 In-Person Town Hall
