MIVAL Welcomes

Block Party Quilters
to the Mercer Island Community and Event Center

“Every quilt tells a story;
let your stitches narrate your journey.” --Unknown

Show Dates: Monday, April 27 – Friday, June 19, 2026

Reception: Wednesday, April 29, 2026, 5 – 7 PM

Please join us at the Mercer Island Community Center for an exhibition of over 50 quilts from the talented and creative artists of Block Party Quilters.

Quilting as an art goes well beyond what your grandmother may have made! Today’s quilters have the advantage of thousands of fabrics, patterns, and computerized quilting technology.

In this Mercer Island Community Center show, Block Party Quilters Club presents a sampling of member work, including a broad sample of techniques (piecing, applique, thread painting, embellishments, collage, etc.) and a broad variety of styles (modern, traditional, wholecloth, and more). A delightful, most colorful welcome to Spring!

Meeting since 1981, and incorporated in 2001, the Sammamish based Block Party Quilters Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of quilting and other needle arts through sharing, education, community service and quilt shows. Through the Club, members come together monthly to learn from experts in the field and take workshops to improve their skills. They have over 160 Eastside and Seattle members who participate in their meetings, retreats and annual quilt show held at the Issaquah Community Center. Block Party Quilters Club members create and donate quilts to patients at Ronald McDonald House, Evergreen Hospice, Swedish Hospital, and KidVantage (formerly Eastside Baby Corner).
