A Practical Approach to Figure Drawing with Mary Shea

This workshop will focus on two of the essential approaches to drawing the figure: Contour and Gesture. The complexity of the human figure can be daunting, but the exercises in this class will allow artists to start to see and draw the body as a whole ratherthan as a collection of parts. An understanding of Contour and Gesture drawing allows us to draw, not copy.

The session draws inspiration from The Natural Way to Draw by Kimon Nicolaides and is a fun introduction to figure drawing for beginners as well as a quick refresher for more experienced artists.

Photo Transfers with Acrylic Painting with Casey Jo Ailes

Take inspiration from Pop Art and Contemporary artists who incorporate photo transfers in their acrylic paintings, then create your own. We will discuss painting fundamentals such as brush strokes, paint application, color mixing, and exploring various materials.You will learn how to build your compositions by applying layers of paint with photo transfers.
